Welcome to Move Me
My name is Michael Poliskey and I love making videos and have for years so I thought it was time to start up my own video production and motion graphics studio and have decided to call it Move Me.
A little background…I went to school as a Communications major with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism, so news. That led to an opportunity to work at WCSH6 as a sports photojournalist for 4 years working with Bruce Glasier and Lee Goldberg. Two awesome guys to work with. I then moved onto working as a web designer and developer for Diversified Communications for the next 12 years before deciding to start a new adventure.
While I was at Diversified I started asking, “Who does video around here?” which lead to me doing all of the video ‘around here’, which was awesome. It was a slow start, but I would take over an old conference room with green screens and lights and had myself a studio! We shot a lot of news shows and vlogs. Not all of them pretty! It took a bit of time with the green screening and light quality, but eventually got it down. I can barely stand to look at some of my first attempts. I eventually wound up traveling to a lot of major cities in the US as well as an opportunity to travel to Europe a few times to shoot video for Diversified’s events.
Eventually I got into motion graphics with After Effects and started making keynote and intro videos for a lot of events which led to internal corporate videos to explain internal changes, in-stream YouTube ads, infographic styled videos to show off stats and data as well as full conference video pckages and set design. I was doing a lot of video and was really enjoying the work and process.
This website took a while to build because with working on videos and client web sites, but finally have something together now. I was too hung up on color schemes so I ended up with the black and white scheme we have now. I figured I would let the color of the video thumbnails be the color. Put more emphasis on the videos. I copied over my theme from my Poliskey.com site, which I thought would speed along the process, but I felt like I was building a brand new site. A different menu system was implemented and then a video background that wouldn’t display on mobile device had to be figured out with javascript. I got there though, but those were the 2 big challenges.
A lot of the videos on here now now are from my personal channel, old work and experiments but I will be updated soon with more recents videos completed and adding more to my Move Me YouTube channel. I do a lot of videos that play at conference openings so I won’t put them on here until after the shows are over so nothing gets spoiled.
I heard something today from Content Marketing World that by 2019 80% of web content will be video. Endless possibilities really. Show off your products, send a video with email, add one to your landing pages, your thank you pages, next to your registration button! So many opportunities to increase engagement with your audience. I’m here to help with that.
