Camden National Bank

Camden National Bank

I was offered a fantastic opportunity to work on several recruiting videos for Camden National Bank last summer and wanted to share the results here. After meeting with the teams involved, we decided to create 3 videos altogether. One 2 minute video and then a couple shorter versions of the 2 minute. Roughly 30 and 15 seconds long for the the others. The longer would be used on the Careers page of their website and the other 2 would be used as ads on social media platforms.

The 2 Minute Video

The 2 minute video that was planned ended up being a bit over 3 minutes, and highlighted employee interviews as well as b-roll that was shot over the course of 2 days. The first day was shot in Portland, and the second in Camden. I don’t know if I had been to Camden before, but what a nice drive from Portland!

Since most people were still working from home at the time of shooting, getting shots of a lot of people was a bit of a challenge! Thankfully the marketing team was great at being stand-ins for a lot of the shots as well as coordinating shots with other employees. They made things easier for sure.

The 30 Second Version

This is an early draft of the 30 seconds and I think is around 40 seconds total. The intros and outros helped pad out that time. This one is actually my favorite. I like the interview audio being the narration to the video while showing happy employees doing work related activities.

The 15 Second Version

This one I was told may have been used as an Instagram or LinkedIn video ad. I never saw it on either platform, but is 15 seconds exactly to fit the ad requirements. The color overlay highlighted the messaging nicely and if you had audio enabled on your device you would hear some audio narration.

Wrapping Up

These types of videos are very important to a company to recruit new talent. It lets a job seeker hear about the company, and get a behind-the-scenes look you wouldn’t normally get by just going to the bank or a website. So many decisions out there for job seekers, so it’s nice to go that extra step and show a potential employee just what the company is about. Was great to meet and work with the team at Camden National Bank. Very cool project, and happy about the results!
